Liz Li (she/they) is an artist and designer based in SoCal.

Overview

As a graphic designer specializing in print, branding, and editorial design, Li is particularly inspired by projects that support social good and uplift people of color.

Background
As a second generation Chinese American, Li’s background drives her to explore Asian American-ness through design and illustration. Because of this, she aims to make inclusive storytelling and cultural history accessible through design. Her work weaponizes playfulness to engage all types of people to think critically about dominant narratives that exclude or misrepresent marginalized people.

Outside of the office:
Beyond work, Liz likes to spend her time watching TV shows, knitting her own clothes, and cooking new recipes! Some of her favorite treats are BBQ pork buns, crepes with strawberries and Nutella, and peanut M&Ms. Her favorite animal is the South American rodent called the viscacha who is known for always looking like it could use a nice long nap.

A text font designed for accessibility and readability. It is inspired by the friendly personality of contemporary neo-grotesques while incorporating key features to make it highly legible in all uses.

Sam Nakahira’s Historical Comics
A collection of comics telling overlooked histories and iconic figures in an accessible way. Well-researched and visualized in Nakahira’s unique art style, these comics are a wonderful way to learn history.

Chinatown Community for Equitable Development (CCED)
